This is my first massage, what should I know?
Thank you for trusting us to take care of you! It's important to know that during any service, you have control over your level of comfort and should feel safe to communicate at any time with your massage therapist. Receiving bodywork for the first time will likely feel great over some muscle groups, and strange in others. Some level of discomfort may occur, especially with deep tissue techniques, but pain is counterintuitive to the practice. If you cannot comfortably breathe through the technique, the pressure is too much. We want to ensure you're getting the most effective treatment possible and will ask for feedback on the pressure and check-in if we suspect anything may need adjusting.
How to prepare:
Please bathe prior to your service and avoid shaving as stubble may impact the techniques we can comfortably use.
Please wait until the massage therapist has left the room to disrobe. You may disrobe completely, or keep on any amount of clothing you would like. If undergarments are worn, techniques are adjusted to maintain comfortability. We drape for modesty and comfort.
While on the table, try to relax all parts of the body to allow the therapist to move your limbs for draping, stretching, and other techniques.
There are no questions we are uncomfortable answering, communication is key to a successful service.
